5:30 AM — The First Call to Prayer

Many pilgrims wake before dawn to attend the Bhasma Aarti at Mahakaleshwar. From our dharamshala, the temple is just a 6-minute walk. The streets are quiet, the morning chill fresh, and the sound of temple bells guides you.

7:30 AM — Sattvic Breakfast

Return from darshan to a warm, freshly prepared breakfast in our dining hall. Today's menu: poha with sev, upma, and masala chai — prepared by our kitchen team under the guidance of trustees who value cleanliness and purity.

9:00 AM — Temple Visit & Exploration

Walk to Kal Bhairav, Harsiddhi Mata, or the local market for puja items. The streets of Ujjain come alive in the morning — flower sellers, chai vendors, and shops selling religious books. Everywhere, the omnipresent sound of bells and mantras.

12:30 PM — Lunch in the Dining Hall

The dining hall fills with pilgrims, families, and trust volunteers. Our menu today: dal makhani, aloo sabzi, roti, rice, salad, and mishri. Everything is prepared fresh daily, with pure ghee and clean water. No outside food or non-veg enters our kitchen.

2:00 PM — Rest & Pause

The midday sun in Ujjain is intense. A restful afternoon in your room — with AC (if you booked a Deluxe room) or a gentle breeze in the Non-AC rooms. Some visitors sit in the prayer hall, quietly reading Ramayana or listening to bhajans.

5:00 PM — Preparing for the Evening

Clean up, change, and walk to Ram Ghat (1.2 km). On Tuesdays and Fridays, there are special maha-aartis. Grab a spot on the ghat steps and feel the energy of the Kshipra.

6:15 PM — Sandhya Aarti at Ram Ghat

The sun is setting over the Kshipra River. Hundreds of diyas float on the water. The priest waves the aarti plate, bells ring, and the entire ghat chants in unison. It is simultaneously chaotic and deeply peaceful — a defining spiritual moment.

8:00 PM — Dinner & Reflection

Back at the dharamshala for dinner: khichdi with curd and papad. Pilgrims share stories of their journey. Some head for a final darshan at Mahakaleshwar (night darshan continues until 11:00 PM). Others retire early, tired but fulfilled.
